I didn't realise that you could get one without the retina display. I hadn't really looked into it, hence the post. I just had a look online and saw that Apple still sell the previous, non-retina 13" Macbook Pro model too- with an SSD that would be quite appealing as it's upgradable. Not sure how the graphics compares.
When I posted originally my iMac had just died and I didn't think I'd get it working again, I was thinking I'd have to make a purchase the next day. But I did get it up and running again, so the hope is that by the time it dies for the 3rd time Apple will have released an updated range (they're roughly due for an update) and I'll make the decision then.
Actually the screen is the least of my concerns, I'm wondering if it's worth spending more for the 15" and getting a quad-core. The 13" models are all dual. Maybe that will change with the next release, who can tell…
