Chris's expression would do what you're looking for. Set 'minx=' and 'miny=' to whatever you want the minimum value to be. As your slider goes from 0 to 100, the value will change from [minX, miny] to the keyed value.
Ha, I wrote that after a few gin and tonics myself, so maybe it wasn't clear. Basically, this is a followup from the realistic camera shake thread. I have a camera with hundreds / thousands of shake keyframes extrapolated from the 3D camera tracker. That is parented to a null that is making the actual camera path and motion, which is smooth. What would be a good way to scale up or scale down the amount of shake on the camera as needed? Also maybe the best way to smooth / interpolate those keys, as some are quite juddery?
Looks like I misread your email teddy while I was having a beer and holding a baby… my mistake :)
Rereading now and do you want to use the slider as a multiplier? So when the slider is at 1 the object is on the path... At 0 the object would be at 0,0,0 at 2 the object would be double the position of the current time?
Not sure I understand 100%, but it sounds like you would use a slider to control the interpolation between the layers actual position, and a minimum or maximum amount. So if you have a slider called "Amount 0-100" your position expression would be:
Not even sure this is possible. But say you have an object on a motion path with hundreds of keys (not able to be reproduced by expressions). Would it be possible to put an expression on a slider linked to those keyframes to dynamically control, say, the absolute minimum and maximum values the object travels on the x axis?
Sort of like scaling the entire motion path of keys in one or all directions, but tying that to a slider, so that when the slider is at 0, there is no motion. ie it clamps all values to 0.
There is probably an easier way to do this but I was wondering if this it was possible like this. Thanks,
