do you by any chance have the CUDA drivers installed ? if yes because you had a nV card at one time, uninstall them.

also look at driver version and maybe reinstall the driver you have, possible update.

USB 2 ? I actually have a project I bounce between machines on a USB 3 drive, but all my machines are USB2 and it works ok.

what clips won't import / play ? mov ? MXF ? P2 ?

with MXF I always clipwrap the media to MOV's and get out of MXF as fast as possible. not so much PP's handling of the media which always seems ok, but other apps, and media trim time at the end.

Hi Steve,

Understand the need for all that info.  Everyone always wants it. :)  Generally, I just expect it to work like previous version so it gets a bit frustrating at times.

That said, yes a PC, Radeon Card...9560 or 6590 series...always forget, 2GB RAM.

Media on local drives, one of many external drives - however one I consistently work off.

Thanks,
Eric

you need to be much more specifc about your OS / hardware. if on PC I'd suspect its a video drive issue for about 1/2 those problems.

also where is the location of the media ? local HD, network volume, RAID ?

short answer is no, none of those problems. basically working ok

.... and have you contacted TS ?

Is anyone else having problems with this new version of Premiere?  I'm having so many, I'm about fed up with the whole thing.  I keep going back to CS6 version.

Half the time, clip's won't import and if so, it works the first time, then gives some generic error on next clip. I shut down app and relaunch and import works. The video on the timeline itself sometimes plays a portion, then you hear audio and video is locked still.  Then other times, the very video on the timeline that appeared in the viewer before, shows almost like it's offline, even though it's right there.

And the media encoder is hit and miss on whether it renders or not.

Any clues as to what is happening here?

Thanks
Eric
