Hi folks,Â
Imagineer has been receiving some questions about new mocha version 4 release from the AE community, so I thought I'd share some info and links here. Apologies for the "marketing" nature of this email!
Imagineer recently released version 4, a major release for mocha Pro and the newly renamed mocha Plus. For this launch, we have updated and improved our website to integrate our forums, documentation, blog, store and "search" into one unified site.
As you probably know, Adobe bundles mocha AE CC, the awesome planar tracking and masking compliment to AE (which is launched from within AE's animation menu). Updates for this version will continue to come within the normal AE creative cloud updates. For users that want to do more in mocha as a stand alone app or have need for specific advanced features, we continue to update our stand alone products.Â
For this launch we decided to clearly make the distinction between mocha AE CC, which is the Adobe bundled tool and the mocha AE which we sell. This new product is called mocha Plus and it contains all the features found in the bundled version with added features:Â
• Lens Module for removing or matching camera lens distortion
• 3D Camera Solver - solves camera, nulls, moving object planes in 3D space.Â
• New Premiere Pro mask export - paste mocha masks to Premiere Pro CC 2014
• Customizable keyboard shortcuts and an AE keyboard profile
• Interface updates & Retina support
• Additional exports: Final Cut Pro v7, Motion & HitFilm
We have priced mocha Plus to be very affordable for a freelancer's budget and all registered AE users qualify for the reduced upgrade from the bundled mocha AE CC.Â
For mocha Pro 4, there are some great new tools for vfx work including the features above and:
• Python scripting support
• Stereoscopic 3D workflow. All modules including track, roto, remove have been updated to support native stereo 3D. Support for AE stereo set-ups means AE users have a better solution for stereo masking, tracking and object removal.Â
• Improved NUKE exports.Â
• Tons of exports including: Adobe AE, Premiere, Nuke, Flame, Smoke, Scratch, Fusion, Motion, FCP, and FBX for C4D, Maya, Blender, etc.Â
Either mocha Pro or mocha Plus can be set to launch from the AE animation menu, by choosing this option in the mocha preference setting. Â
I hope this answers any questions. Please feel free to check out these links below or ping me direct off the list. If anyone is attending SIGGRAPH, please stop by and say hello at Imagineer's booth.Â
