I would pay all the money I would potentially have to spend on 4k gear towards getting broadband speeds on par with what is readily available in many many other countries.  

I have a friend in singapore who is always taunting me with his standard broadband speeds (1Gbps for $90/month?!!!!!)

You can get 4K TVs and Monitors pretty cheaply in the US too, but there's no content to display on such devices... no widespread 4K Blu-Ray, no 4K broadcast that I am aware of. Sony is talking about a new player, but still, where does the content come from? There are some 4K vimeo and YouTube clips showing up, but that's all I've seen so far. -B
