Jim, we bought a couple very early on and sent them back within the first week. Not worth it for us.

We do mostly AE and Maya stuff at Mettle. We opted for beefed up 4.1 and 5.1 Macs with great GPU's and a couple of WIN machines instead.

A buddy of mine that runs an FCPX edit shop swears by the new Mac Pros.

I would hold off if I were you... get SSD's and max out your RAM on your current Macs. From what I remember you already have very decent GPU's on your Macs.

HTH

Cheers,
Chris

All is not well with them and Mavericks and Pr CC or CC 2014, according to some posts on the Adobe forums.*  I have a similar post there.

Pr is 70-80% of my creative work and Ae is the remainder.

I'm investigating whether it's a good idea to consider upgrading yet.  I've done a budget, and my cost is going to be around $10K, so I wouldn't be happy with anything less than dramatic improvements in speed and reliability.

Any thoughts from actual users who can shed some light, pro or con?  With Ae and/or Pr?

Thanks,
Jim C.
