Reading this article, the archaeologist mentions using drones to take pictures that are then stitched together using a "powerful Russian computer" from which ultimately 3D data is extracted.

It turns out it is Photoscan Pro they use. Does anyone know of anything that does something similar NOT for $3500 ?

While this is not an AE related question, I plan on incorporating AE in the work that this could generate and I know that the people on this list are the best to answer this question.
