note that in versions prior to AE 12.2, collapsed pre-comps with animatable track matte are problematic and can cause problems in inconstant behaviour .
You can apply a track matte to each layer individually in the precomp, but I think that is the only workaround that bypasses collapsing when you need transparency. Sometimes that can work though, depending on the layout. (Stencils don't work.)
I have a pre comp with collapsable transform on because i need the blending modes inside the precomp but when i duplicate it add a mask to it collapsable transformations doesn't work anymore. Im creating a loop so i need the duplicate to have the same blending modes as the original. I tried to use a track mat instead of the mask on the layer but this also disable collapse transformation.
Is there a way to use masks on layer without disabling collapse transformations ?
