Wow, yeah, I guess I am thinking of the 690, which was about $1,200 when I picked it up. Sorry, the numbers change rather quickly in this  space. :P

Brian there is no GTX 790 - are you thinking of the 690, which is 2x GTX 680 on a single card? Technically, the GTX Titan Z is what the 790 was slated to become. And the Titan Z starts around $2,999 MSRP. It does have a staggering 12 GB shared RAM

Still the 690 is a very good card. Faster than a single 780 for CUDA processing

It’s like 2 780s working together in SLI mode on a single slot. The only downside to it not being two actual cards is it has to share the memory, but I haven’t had an issue with that.

EVGA has a better warranty too. I have the EVGA 790 and it has been a great card.

the cards are basically the same reference design from nvidia, the vendors add their own cooling options  ram sizes and software. in my shop, i like the build quality of evga over the others. i have 8 different evga, 2 msi and 2 pny cards. with the pny being my least favourite. in your list, i have 4 of the evga 3gb cards with the acx cooler, 2 in my main cc pc, and very happy with the perfomance!

Hello,

Can anyone tell me if there is any difference in what appears to be many versions of this same card?  And which one is recommended?

For example here in the first 4 links I see a "PNY" version, an "EVGA" version and a "ZOTAC" version.

Not sure why there are variations of the same model.  Ought to just have different models....

Anyway, thanks ahead.
