Okay, I admit not a normal setup, but I have a 3 Pre= comps 20,000 x 8000 precomp with 4 tiled bitmap layers (my usual workflow d= ue to AE’s frame buffer limitations) set to 3D for collapse transform= ations. In my main comp, with camera parented to null. Precomps are arranged in Z-space for multiplane photoanimation bu= t when I scale them to match original photograph – at certain seeming= ly arbitrary scale percentages they vanish behind a layer that is thousands= of pixel behind the layer being scaled.

I’ve setup similar comps many hundreds of time= s and not observed this before – checked does it in CC and CC 2014.

A film is – or s= hould be – more like music than like fiction. It should be a progress= ion of moods and feelings. The theme, what’s behind the emotion, the = meaning, all that comes later.
