Hello all,

So, I got my GTX780, installed it and having some difficulty with the driver install.

I used the procedure below to uninstall all existing drivers and now I am getting an IRQL less than or equal error.  Something like that.

I can get to windows but it just has the VGA mode.  So, I try installing the new drivers from the CD and goes about 10% in before giving me the blue screen and reboots.

Running WIn 8.

THoughts?

THanks

Eric

No that will create the problems. Remove http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/GPU57RemoveOldGraphicsDrivers.aspx and clean http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

Until your system is just in VGA mode. Then install new board.

Thanks Rik.  I will be sure to do that.

I think I will go with the base model rather than the TI.  Didn't see really any comments here though I've read it is about 17% faster in some other reviews.

Do most of you consider this to be a significant jump from my current Radeon card?  I'm hoping to see better video processing.

Thanks,

Eric

be sure to delete all the amd drivers when you install the Nvidia cards, they'll wreak havoc with the creative suite if both are still installed

Hello,

Someone had recommended this card for me a while back and I am about to buy it but I see a few variants and wondering which is recommended.  They range from high $400s to nearly $700.

Appreciate the advice.  They all seem to have PCI 3.0 so I should be in good shape for my board.

Thanks,
Eric
