Happy to report that Mocha, Sapphire and Continuum plug-ins all officially support the new CC fall release for both AE and Premiere.

The exposure to deeper masking & shape data will definitely help 3rd party developers create some improved workflows. 😉

I think part of this is the multiple release per year cycle that they now have. There are fewer features at each release because it happens 2 times a year.

One feature I think will be helpful is the expressions improvements to path points on masks, bezier shapes and brush strokes. Even if you don’t know how to use expressions, it’s likely that presets/scripts/plugins that you purchase may use these features.

I’m hoping that the reason there are less features being introduced during the recent release cycles is that they are working to keep improving the render engine.

Some of the enhancements look useful to me.  I wonder how many people are working in VR that motivates Adobe to put so much emphasis on it.

I’m still disappointed about that promise years ago to not add new features until they made it faster.  Going by what I read here, the rendering is still slower than in CC13, the 2014 release.

I see a couple of things are now GPU accelerated.  I can use that and keyboard mapping, but my work won’t be improved by anything else on their list.

Here’s what’s new:

Installing it now. Seems mainly to be mainly Mettle Skybox incorporation.
