Layers with effects that reference other layers in the same comp. Something like gradient wipe, where you choose which layer it references for the gradient.
Does the update keep that choice properly when you copy and paste the effected layer and the gradient layer into a new comp or elsewhere?
In CC2017, doing so just resets that field to its own layer which messes up the intended effect.
A quick test suggests it remains as you've described above - the gradient source layer reverts to default.
