in addition to Ross's statement about Mocha is ready for CC2018 (or is it just the plugins?) I see reports that this is not the case and numerous crashes when trying to use Mocha Ae with Ae CC2018. any news on where exactly that stands? 

I tested it for myself, just tracked a little something, copy shape data, back to Ae I was welcomed with a crash (got a chance to save it at least). when I returned - a crash again. figured it was because the shape data was still on the clipboard and I was correct. I see transform/corner pin is transitioning without issues.

Seems pretty solid so far. Working with 8k footage. Element3D seems to launch interface faster. Better scrubbing performance. One of our editors is trying it with a 360 VR project today.

Just a heads up.

Thinking this was a minor update, I ran the CC updater yesterday, and launched Ae from my old Dock icon, and the previous version launched.  I thought something was wrong.  I poked around a bit, and discovered that they’re calling this Ae CC 2018, and it creates a new folder in the Applications Folder (OSX).  So, you’ll need to copy what effects you have in the CC 2017 Effects folder and paste them into the new one to get them to work in this new version.

Same goes for Premiere, and as always, once you start a project in Pr 2018, you can’t open it in a prior version without the export,import XML rigamarole.
