pretty much BMD is the main survivor of video I/O cards or interfaces. I have one of their HD ultra studios with TB and it works great… but its also a discontinued product. BMD thinned out their hardware line considerably at or around NAB 2017. used options are of course out there, but I’d probably go with  something that does 4K at this point.

The BlackMagic Ultrastudio HD Mini works great on our Macs, and costs less than $500... it outputs multiple channels of SDI and HDMI... but it's input is only Thunderbolt 3 so you would need to plan on a PCIe adapter for your Windows box (another 50-75 bucks).

What do you all recommend these days for SDI output from a Windows box? We have some SDI monitors I could use for previews but I don't have an output card. I've used both Blackmagic and AJA stuff in the past, it's just been a while.
