Going to edit this. I tried 3.9.2 first then upgraded to 4.1.1 and although it worked with VC Element and Optical Flares, the GPU didn't show up in the AE preferences with 4.1.1. 3.9.2 does work however with the VC plugins and AE.

I tested it with AE 2017 and it looks like some things are a little speedier and stable. I'd make a backup of the old .dll file just in case, but so far I haven't had a problem. I used the latest Nvidia OptiX SDK, 4.1.1.
