Hi Pete, it’s all about pixels…..

Don’t worry about PPI or DPI if you image has 3840 pixels on the width then you can blow it up 200% (if you are rendering full HD) without having to upsample.

You can have a 3840 pixel image at 300PPI you could also have a 3840 pixel image at 150PPI. AE would seem them exactly the same as there are still the same number of pixels.

If you goal is to resize the images so they are at least 1920 X 1080 then do that by resampling the image Alt/Option + Ctrl/Cmnd + i, then turn resample on and set the dimensions to pixels and enter 1920 or 1080 in the smallest box. You don’t need to worry about the PPI unless you plan to print the image.
