I'm curious now about this black carpet thread.  I bought some and it appears to be a simple spool of black thread. lol

Is there something unique to this string?

Fishing line - transparent leader, picks up light, black carpet thread, about as strong, especially with dulling spray, absorbs light and is much less visible in most shooting situations. Give it a try. 

The V is a great suggestion.
