Holy Retire AE 2014! Does this effectively solve the MP missing on post AE 2014 editions i.e. if you want to use it not as background but "render as fast as possible"?

So has this been stress tested on mondo projects yet? I'm still rendering the IMAX film in AE 2014 because it's the only way I can get it out. The bulk of the flat screen is rendered but we have to render the entire film again out for native fulldome and likely will can't use 2014 due to plugin and other issue with fulldome output.

Our big projects have either about 100 gigs of very small source PNGs - 200k to 5M files or very large sets  5 to 20TB of source files. AE 2014 CC run 6 to 12GB per thread to function but even a two thread render that cuts a shot from 4 weeks to 2 weeks is big deal.

I see no discounts though ☹ - $99 is reasonable price but adds up if you have 10 machines to render with.

Best,
Stephen

A film is – or should be – more like music than like fiction. It should be a progression of moods and feelings. The theme, what’s behind the emotion, the meaning, all that comes later.

If you have a farm, then you probably don't need RenderGarden.  This is for people who don't have a farm.  RenderGarden is nowhere as advanced as render farm software like Tractor, but it's a lot easier to set up and a lot cheaper.

By running multiple processes simultaneously, RenderGarden will speed things up for any output file format.  But while people rendering this way usually need to stick to image sequences, RenderGarden will let you render out movie segments that are then combined into a full-length movie by FFmpeg without re-encoding.

Yes, like any render farm you need all your machines to have the same plug-ins and fonts.

While we don't officially support earlier versions of AE, I have used RenderGarden on CS6.  Run the installer, and then copy the files to whatever version you want to use.  It'll probably work.
