When a render completes, the command windows remain open. Is there a way to config RenderGarden to auto close the command prompt when the process completes? Thanks for the hard work and excellent addition to ae! | -Rik Bogusz MotionGraphics/VFX Rik@RikBogusz.net 818.319.5400 -----Original Message----- From: After Effects Mail List [mailto:AE-List@media-motion.tv] Sent: Wednesday, November 29, 2017 07:42 To: After Effects Mail List Subject: Re: [AE] New AE script- Rendergarden On Nov 29, 2017, at 7:24 AM, Stephen van Vuuren wrote: > Holy Retire AE 2014! Does this effectively solve the MP missing on post AE 2014 editions i.e. if you want to use it not as background but "render as fast as possible"? No, we're rendering in the background, using the command line, as you usually do with a render farm. This will not speed up AE's interactivity at all. > So has this been stress tested on mondo projects yet? I'm still rendering the IMAX film in AE 2014 because it's the only way I can get it out. You'll have to experiment. With big frames like that, the resource under the most demand will be memory, not CPU. But if you have enough memory to run two processes, you could benefit. For any comp there will be a point where running too many processes is slowing things down rather than speeding them up. At some point you've taken up all your RAM, or doing too much I/O. In our testing most projects do get a boost from extra processes, sometimes as many as 12. But yours is not most projects, so maybe you'll have to stick with 1 process per computer. Download it and experiment. But even with only one Gardener per computer, I think you'll like the workflow of RenderGarden where you queue up a series of tasks and then your computers grind away on them. By watching your filesystem, you can get an idea of the progress they're making. Again, not as sophisticated as Tractor, but a lot cheaper and it works out of the box. Speaking of cheaper, you only need to buy RenderGarden for the machine you're working on. You don't need to pay for the render nodes. Brendan +---End of message---+ To unsubscribe send any message to
