Mac or PC, it doesn’t matter. Make a clone of the boot drive when everything is working. Use a Raid 10 storage array for data backup. If you have a storage drive problem no time is lost. If you have an OS problem you can either boot to the cloned drive in about a minute or swap out the drive. Total time to get running again is just a little more than the time it takes to boot up. Cloning a 4 TB boot drive takes about an hour.

Raid 10 storage arrays are plenty fast for 4K Raw footage even with 5200 rpm drives and many have an extra drive, five instead of the minimum four, that automatically kicks in in case of a drive failure. I use WD Gold 7200 rpm enterprise drives and they are very affordable.

There are dozens of cheap solutions you can get to clone boot drives for both Mac and PC.

PC Brethren, I'm looking for a PC backup/restore strategy similar to my long-time Mac backup restore/strategy of Retrospect (for content)/Time Machine (for system restore in case of severe hardware failure). All suggestions welcome and appreciated.
