Always do, but had to put two old machines to bed and combine into one new machine that required a clean install (move legacy to UFI Bios) - that's when you're screwed.

A film is – or should be – more like music than like fiction. It should be a progression of moods and feelings. The theme, what’s behind the emotion, the meaning, all that comes later.

so if you have them, leave them installed. Me, well I completed a multi machine removal of the old apps and all the hubris the installers fail to remove. OTH I installed CS6 just because…

There is quite a thread about this on Adobe Forums but it appears Adobe is disinclined to this despite the fact it's causing a lot of people problems. I don't think they appreciate both individuals working on projects that take 3-5+ years, large customers that large deployments. Hopefully those large customers will pressure Adobe to make the pulled installers available.

Opening up previous projects for updates isn’t pretty as those are super easy to crash with. doing simple stuff like adding an transition crashes.I’ve heard similar tales from PC users. Some people seem to have stable installs, some don’t. There doesn’t seem to be commonality to it. Even new clean projects can be crashers, so I gave up and moved on. sad but when you just need to get things done rather then send crash logs off… you do what you need to do.
