Have heard many great things about the Gigabyte Aero series, the Aero 15X is the one I've been eyeing as a replacement for my aging 15'' MBP

Also interested to hear about a class using Max + AE. C4D is a much more common choice for motion graphics since the AE integration is much tighter, among other things (a much stronger media core being another). What is the class about? Any idea why Max was the preferred software? Max is typically used for archviz and game design, much less common for mograph / vfx, although definitely capable.

Hello,

I saw a few threads before on jumping from Mac to PCs, but if I recall correctly, it seemed like it was mostly for desktop. Can you offer advice on a good PC laptop?

I'm currently enrolled in an evening class utilizing 3DS Max and After Effects, so I need portability with decent rendering power.

My teacher suggested a Lenovo Yoga 720, but the reviews elude to a black bar screen issue that hasn't been solved in years.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!
