Nope. It snaps and you see these guides appear on the screen that are very apparent.

It drives me crazy.  The only work around is to use arrow keys to move it.

don't know if the Snapping checkbox is the same thing, but there's a menu item called Snap to Grid under the View menu. The keyboard shortcut is Ctrl+Shift+' to toggle it off or on.

Can someone please tell me how to turn this thing off off? As far as I can tell, any place I've seen that says snap to grid, I've turned off but the darn thing keeps doing it and it's annoying as hell trying to position things.
