…and go somewhere else. ;-) (I will never understand the attraction of the Peppermill)
Otherwise, Steve’s advice is spot on.
I will pile on to the advice about comfy shoes. You won’t believe how much you’re going to walk.
Also, it’s much easier to get a taxi if you leave your hotel 30 minutes after the show starts and leave the convention before 4pm-ish. Taxi lines after 5pm can be epic. Also, remember Lyft works great, as does Uber.
Bring cough drops. For yourself and everyone else. The dry Vegas air, combined with constantly moving in and out of air conditioned spaces, combined with people smoking, combined with a lot of talking… may be really hard on your throat/voice. As an exhibitor, it kicks my ass every year. But I think it applies to most people.
The Foundation Room at the top of the Mandalay is my favorite place for a drink. Firefly is a great, (relatively) inexpensive, off-strip tapas restaurant.
Cheers,
Jim

its WAY bigger than you think. hiking or running shoes, med weight socks.
your water bottle is your best friend and don’t be bashful about refilling it once you see convention hall prices for one.
try to stay at a hotel that has shuttle service. staying at the cheaper hotels farther away will have any savings eaten in the cost of cab rides.
learn where the peppermill is.
there are TWO hard rocks, know which one.
oh, its way bigger than you think on distances, especially if you have never been to vegas before. save your feet and take the shuttle bus to hotels with night events if you can.
I’ve driven the last 5 years and still park the truck and take taxis, safer, faster.
go for the faster cheap food because your time will be busy, and most of the meals you’ll eat will be crap anyway. I’ve eaten at a few of the expensive places in vegas and mostly thats all they are, expensive and really loud.
go to the MMB for good food, great prizes and to meet folks in this community in person !

Wear comfortable shoes. Also, demo artists love cough drops.
