With AE and PR, we can usually get away with drilling down to the STREAM folder within the AVCHD data structure and pulling the MTS files to be imported directly.

I switch to the Media Browser tab whenever that doesn’t go as expected, but always on the original memory card or a full copy of the original memory card.

You’ve tried testing the problem clip in camera.  Have you tried another application like Blackmagic DaVinchi Resolve?

Appreciate all of the comments but this is not a continuing issue with the C100.  I've been using it for a year with no problems and seems centered on a single file from the same shoot.

Records in AVCHD + MP4 Recording.  Interesting review as I bought it based on stellar reviews and advice from a C100, C200, and C300 user.   I've seen spectacular results really.

As for the audio though, is there a way to adjust this synch problem?

I've never had to "copy the whole card" before.

The C100 uses the dreaded AVCHD .MTS files.
Its a nice camera and can capture beautiful images, but the AVCHD gives annoyingly bad performance in most apps, Premiere and Avid at least was problematic in the past. Now i very seldom gets any C100 files anymore, so i dont know if it has been fixed, but my guess your issues is due to AVCHD.

I recall that the C100 Mk1 writes h.264 in MXF file / folder wrapper aka AVCHD 25. I thought the Mk2 went to independent mov files. C300 mk2 is is independent MXF where you can move files around at will , Mk1 is folder / file.

Edit ready will rewrap into independent MXF or MOV.  I’d really suggest getting all media out of MXF folder / file structure and make independent files. life is a lot easier that way. sounds like some bit in the MXF structure got hit. worst case is play out the camera and digitize via capture card or atomos device. brute force but will get the job done.

I’m not sure if this is helpful but, on the C300 I have to drag the whole card over… meaning I literally grab the icon of the card on the desk top and drag that to a folder on a drive.
Not doing so can cause issues.

When you copy the SD card, are you maintaining the data structure?

Try playing one clip in the Media Browser (in Premiere, AE, or AME).  You’ll know right away if you’re getting the unexpected playback you’re getting when you import directly or the expected playback you’re getting when you play the footage in camera.

Thanks all.

I had tried the import file feature as well as drag and drop.  If the sample rate is the issue, how do I correct this?  I've never had an issue with sampling when dragging in new footage.  Appreciate the help gents.

Tim is right most likely. Sampling rate issue.

Are you using the Media Browser to bring the clips in or just File > Import?

Hello All,

I have the weirdest issue going on here.  I just did some recording using my Canon C100 Mark 2.  Footage is fine, audio is fine in camera but when I download the file and use on the timeline in AE or Premiere it is not only not synched up but it begins early and is too fast.  At a glance it looks to have sped up by two times and I can see clearly how it begins early since it is a guy singing.

Starts before he does and finishes before he does.

And, it doesn't affect every clip, just like a couple.

I've downloaded a third time, placed the SD card back in the camera to verify and it plays fine.

Never seen this one before. Any ideas?
