I pretty sure you can tie these to the SFX by using Keyframe Assistant/ Convert Audio to Keyframes and then pick-whip the properties in the expressions of the effects to the keyframes in the Audio Amplitude layer.

Yeah, I'm with Jim. I'd do the same thing with a slider connected to a wiggle expression. Though it sounds like that's maybe how Squash and Stretch Pro does it, but probably better :)
