Nice Phil! Didn’t even think about that and that’s a good sign, I must say.

And agree with the tips.

I found my name on there (thanks)…. :-)

I agree that left justify is a much quicker read and might be worth looking at.

It should also be first name followed by last (as you have it)

Cheers

One comment on the setup that in my opinion would make it faster to read or find a specfic name. Left justify all names in each column, that way all names with eg. "R" would be way faster to find :-)

I think first/last is the way to go.. last names would be odd to me.

hope i've helped some.  Sometimes you just gotta get the mess on the screen and be done with it. I recall having a project one time for a sponsored contest at a TV station. The contest had 27 sponsors and we needed to put ALL of them on screen at the same time and 2 of them were "special sponsors" which got bigger placement. This all had to fit into one frame and it was like 3-4 seconds long at the end of the spot.. needless to say it was a smattering of a shot, but whatever.. we fulfilled our duty to show their logo.. I think we even had some sponsors call and ask to be rearranged because they didn't want to be shown next to some other company's logo as well.

Thanks Greg very helpful. Do you think by last name or first name is going to be better?

But I’m not surprised. I would have not asked for feedback if I thought I was not in trouble.

I know you don't want to hear this, but to be honest it took quite a long time for me to find that name.

I have a 110" screen with a projector and put it up on there with chromecast and had to replay the video about 6 times, eventually pausing it to have a long enough time to read through.

To be honest, I wouldn't worry too much if you can't catch your own name on here, but I know some people would. I've had small credits in things before and have completely missed them in live showing, because there's just too much on screen to sift through.

I do have a couple suggestions that may help though.

Considering you're fighting for space and time to get all these names up, I found it odd that you've used such large gutters between each column. You could almost bring the size of the font up a few points, lose a column's worth of names from each column, and then make a whole extra column and still have plenty of empty space between them.

Maybe also use a less condensed font if the same style to allow the names to be a bit more prominent.

Okay this is basic and not polished. Again, this is for theaters, probably the smallest screen this is on is a larger multiplex.

I’ve picked a font and basic layout that I hope most people can find themselves but gets a lot of names on a screen. I’m not too worried about “thanks folks” it’s other people.

So for purposes of this test, you are person named Jenny Batista that worked on the film in doing Photoshop cleanup. Do you find your name in 10 seconds? If not, how long. Right now this gives me around 240 names per (would have 6 of these) so leaves time for other screens with less names and longer views.

Also need feedback on readability – but even if smaller fonts are readable, finding your name gets harder and harder.

A film is – or should be – more like music than like fiction. It should be a progression of moods and feelings. The theme, what’s behind the emotion, the meaning, all that comes later.
