My first suspicion is corrupted footage.  If you have Digital =
Rebellion=E2=80=99s Corrupt Clip Finder, run that.

If not=E2=80=A6 You could try closing the project, quarantining the =
media, and then open the project with the media off-line.  Is it faster? =
 If so, Search and Destroy: Relink the media one or a few clips at a =
time and see if adding media back mucks up the works.  If so, you can =
probably narrow it down.

If that turns out to be the issue, transcode the problem clip into =
another codec.  Or, perhaps Collect and transcode the project in Pr to =
an intraframe codec.  My experience is they are less prone to corruption =
than varieties of MPEG.
