I typically use the C4D 3D camera solver instead - so wasn't aware of this additional plugin for the 3D data. Also Jim (and everyone) there's a 25-40% off Mocha Pro licenses on toolfarm.com, with code MYCART for an additional 5%. I think it makes the perm license a bargain -TG On Thu, Aug 9, 2018 at 3:55 PM Ross Shain wrote: > Sorry Jim -I will let our people know this installer has been hard find. > > I'd be curious to hear your thoughts as well. I'd be curious to hear your thoughts= as well. An important thing to note about the Mocha Camera Solver is it on= ly uses tracked planes for solves. The solves will really only be good if y= ou know how to use Mocha and firmly grasp the general strengths of planar t= racking and using multi-shapes to avoid occlusions & reflections.=C2=A0=

Before doing the solve and exporting, make sure t= hat your selected surfaces are aligned. The surface alignment will translat= e into the 3D Null positions. (5 for each selected Mocha surface). What you= are producing is a very light weight "plane cloud" ... a solve f= or each tracked surface corner vs a point cloud.=C2=A0

IMO - Mocha's solver does not really replace a full blown 3D track= er, as the solve is light weight and will not be mathematically correct for= detailed CGI compositing. In other words, since the solve is based on very= minimal data, the camera and plane can be accurate but the overall scene m= ight not be fully correct. Where it is useful, is when other 3D solvers fai= l and you need a simple 3D solve for set extensions, motion graphics, etc.= =C2=A0

On related note - as a gag/workaround, if y= ou have a shot that the AE camera tracker is not handling well. Sometimes y= ou can do a quick Mocha planar track and render a texture graphic on the cl= ip. Then re-run it through the AE camera tracker. So if there are out-of-fo= cus areas or lots of reflections, you can use Mocha's regular planar tr= acking to help.=C2=A0

Teddy - to be clear, no matt= e if you are running the Mocha Pro standalone application OR the Mocha Pro = Adobe plug-in, you still need to install the mentioned 3D tracker import pl= ug-in if you want to paste Mocha's 3D solver (vs the typical 2.5D surfa= ce to corner pin workflow).=C2=A0

Hope this helps!= =C2=A0

Ther= e was a link mentioned in the tutorials, but it was at imagineer systems, a= nd 404.

Now, I=E2=80=99m in the solving business.= =C2=A0
