Thanks Robert. I didn't know that DNxHD/HR clips could have the same issues. We're still trying to figure out how to predict which clips would error out and which would not.

Hi Byron

a bit late to this, but in the past it was possible to have have QT (and probably also FCP) generate mov files with multiple Prores flavours in one file, so a file can contain a Prores444+HQ+Proxy at various points. And with the newish native Prores reader in Adobe there can be trouble reading those files. The exact same can happen with DNxHD files generated from Avid MC using the video passthrough export option (Same as Source) and the native DNxHD/HR reader in Adobe.

I havnt seen this in a while so i dont know if it has been fixed or i just havnt encountered these files recently. But this is my educated guess you are seeing here.

My IT department just pulled the plug on all things Quicktime for the windows machines. Most of the ProRes files still play back fine in AE and PPro. However, there are certain ones that only play the audio. The video track is not showing up. I can play them back with Scratch player so I know the files are good. I cannot figure out what the difference is between certain ProRes files that makes some play and some not. The Mac's have no issues. And I didn't have any issues before the QT drivers were removed.

Thanks!
