| Trash preferences.
The preference file stores things like recently opened projects, recently imported footage etc. that change every time you close AE. These file paths can become corrupted in the preference file, which can then affect AE opening the next time.
There is a key you hold down when you open AE to reset preferences, try that.

Hello,
I just incurred a weird issue after an unexpected reboot on Win 10 machine.
I've been using AE all day, then after a break I noticed my PC had rebooted and now AE won't load a project. It goes to the main screen until you select open project, acts like it wants to then I get the crash report screen, click don't send and it shuts it down.
Have tried now about 6 times, all with the same result.
Any ideas? Eric
