Moving the plugin folders will help for a lot of the typical plugins but there in invariably numerous that require installs, moving other stuff, re-registering, etc.
You could just move your Plug-ins folders (There are two locations on Mac.) before the procedure, and them move them back afterwards. That’s what I was doing before I learned the uninstaller didn’t affect them on my Macs.
Thanks. Guess I need to get that answer for PC too. lol
That's a show stopper on reinstall for me. That ten minutes would turn in to 10 hours.
That is by far, one of THE worst experiences for me when it comes to major updates to AE. It takes hours and often times don't realize what is not there until something comes up.
Well, I've found the keystrokes as mentioned. One site indicated a dialogue box would appear to reset and another said, you don't see anything and it just happens.
Meanwhile, I had stumbled in the preferences button that shows them in explorer.  So I deleted all of the files that showed moments ago and when I restart, it creates a new set.
Is that considered a reset? I dont know.
None if this works however. Nothing from today will open or import in to a new project.
Somehow in renders using AME, some were saved from two days ago and they import in.
That's helpful but I'd really like to figure this out.
It’s option on Mac. Option-Shift does something else I can’t recall. You can also locate the prefs in CC 2018 in the General Preferences panel at the bottom of the Pref pane.
