Short answer - not really. Even with a project with lots of GPU effects I
find AE doesn't really hit the cards very hard - even a single card is
rarely maxed out. It does however recognize and utilize multiple cards, so
I'm not saying there's zero benefit, but I think unless you have a very
specific comping task build I wouldn't really factor AE into any GPU
purchases.
