I use Element 3D, optical flares, Reel Smart Motion Blur, Plexus, Trapcode Suite, and VR (formerly Mettle). In my experience, all these run better on better cards and need lots of GPU RAM, especially for large frames sizes, like 8k VR,
and high poly Element 3D scenes.

1080 or 1080TI are showing up reasonable, even some used now as cryptomining collapses. save your pennies another week or two and get the better card if your work is GPU dependent. consider it in the light of moving it into your next machine.
