I really admire the look of the animated trails and
smoke seen in this video. It feels very stylized and clean, yet
hand drawn. I'm wondering what tricks are used to make it more
efficient in a production environment? I feel like using masks
would be cumbersome. Maybe vector paint in some cases would work.
My guess is these artists are using something more suited to cel
work like Toon Boom or Anime Studio. Just looking to incorporate
things like this into the fast paced turnarounds we deal with at my
work.Â
