Ah, I bought the full version pretty promptly after trying it. Sorry, I hadn't realised the free version couldn't do ProRes.
Interesting about speed of premiere encoding, I've never heard that.

- I would not buy Aftercodecs for AME, I'd buy it for premiere or AME instead. The thing is, you might be able to keep working theoretically, however I've seen Aftercodecs usually pegs the CPU at 100% - meaning you're likely going to crash the system or at a minimum it'll be very very slow. Also, if you buy it for Premiere, you can export a lossless intermediate from AE and then transcode in Premiere in the BG. This is my preferred workflow anyway, since the premiere export is the fastest (I've tested them all) - Fusion is fantastic, and I use it a lot, however there are a few things to consider - Fusion's export is not meant for batching shots really, it can be a headache with more than a few shots at a time. - Fusion ProRes export is restricted to Fusion pro studio standalone which is still $300. Check out Scratch pro Player instead - the audio workflow in Fusion is likewise annoying - need to manually add audio tracks per shot, shots do not come in with audio. this alone makes it not great as a transcoder. If only Resolve exported prores!! it has the best transcoding workflow of any app
If it’s a one off and you don’t want to spend, download blackmagic fusion (now part of Resolve). That exports to ProRes even on PC.
