DNxHD is limited to fixed HD res size images. feed it non HD size frames and they are scaled to fit the full raster. really ugly and stupid but that happens because it was a hardware based codec.’
DNxHR works with any res.
they work fine on win, OS X. no playback problems, its basically avids ver of prores with similar data rates and generational performance.
I’ve used it also as a record format on atomos products with excellent results and moved media between PP / AE / Resolve with out concern or thought.
