I agree the selection method can be improved. ;) Was created so that you can can bring multiple track layers from Mocha interface into AE without having to go back and forth band relaunch interface. Once you get used to it, it is much faster. But certainly if you only have one layer, it should default to on. Will see about updating in a point release.
