Did you try using Mesh Warp with a low number of rows / columns and really cranking the bezier handles around on the points? You can get looks like this. Would probably need to build it up over several different layers. Bezier Warp would do similar. Then perhaps make the layers 3D to add a little rotation and add the various layers together?

Hi all,
A client has asked me to recreate this shutterstock image as an animation such that the streaks of light are flying out from the point where they converge.
I'm using fractal noise to create horizontal lines, but I'm really struggling to come up with a way of warping those lines into that shape.
I've played around with all the warping effects but don't seem to be getting close to what I'm after in any kind of neat way.
I feel like I'm missing something really obvious as I don't usually struggle to recreate abstract imagery like this in AE, but it has been a long day!
Any help much appreciated!
