For the lines I used multiple layers of Turbulent Noise with varying scale/brightness/contrast/complexity, animated at different speeds using a time expression on the X Offset, and used Tint to colour them, with a couple of glow effects stacked on the orange layers. I also added a layer with some large black turbulent noise, multiplied over the top to add some more variance to the light and shade I need to smooth the warping a little more, and add some more orange light streaks over the top which I think I'll do using a Particular light emitter so they can woosh toward the camera every so often.
