It has changed. I did not see any mention of this yet on the Adobe forums. Uncheck, for sure.

Leaving this checked would be a huge problem. Can you imagine? Wake up one morning and you have the newest dot version (or major?) and none of your old versions?

When I installed my CC 2019 apps, the pref to remove old apps was unchecked - as it should have been all along, IMO.

But, I noticed this was a first since I initially installed CC in 2014, or whenever CS was ditched.

By default, this will remove old apps. Ungood.
You can customize this behavior by app but I suspect a new cloud update or other situation could reset that preference.
My choice and recommendation would be to leave auto-update off
