The preset for high quality 1080p is set to 20mbps. That will never play smoothly in PPT. Better to ratchet it down to 8mbps target bitrate and use VBR 2 pass encoding or use the preset labelled Facebook 1080p.Â
For delivering sporing event clips to a major network, we use 1080p30 @ 10mbps 2 pass VBR as the “mezzanine” or intermediate format from which they compress copies to a wide variety of specs and send them to broadcast partners. Never any need to exceed that. Many laptops struggle to decode video at higher data rates.Â

Hey,
gang.
I have
ProRes animations that I need to play from a PC running Powerpoint.
(Don’t ask . . .) I ran the files through Media Encoder, selecting
a high bit-rate H264 with an extension of MP4. It seems to work
although Powerpoint seems to be spinning it’s wheels before
starting the next clip. But is that the best way to go about
it?
Many thanks.
Apologies for the slightly off-topic.
