In my experience Content Aware Fill is slow.  The example I wrote about took just over 30 minutes to process about 6 seconds:

What am I doing wrong here or are there some tips.  I took the layer out of the comp by precomping it and am just trying to work with the layer by itself in its own comp.  But still…..
