Raw files will have higher than 8bit color information. JPG will be 8bit. So, I'm sure that's where some of the data is going.

I love the pix as well.

These settings:

Resolution set to 1:1 or 16:9 (which is the only way to change resolutions; go figure)

Shooting the “Pro” mode

RAW turned on (jpg and dng).

Produce dng file sizes of 17.7MB. So I assume that is what you have.

Jpg’s for the same setting are 2.4MB.

So what filetype are you exporting?

Subject: [AE] Question on Picture Render Resolution

Hello,

This is curious to me, wonder if someone can elaborate.  When I take pictures with my phone which takes some pretty stunning pics (Galaxy S10+), some pictures are very large size and file size like 8-10MB.

I will often take them and do some color editing in AE but when I render, even at the same resolution, the file size is dramatically smaller.

So, my question is, am I losing quality or are the renders simply more efficient?

Thanks
Eric
