Eric,
Â
Not sure about the Element 3D question as I’ve never saved an imported model as preset but I believe presets are just for the type of item e.g. textures, models, lights etc. I don’t think there is an entire rig “preset” that I recall off
the top of my head.
Â
I still do my personal editing in Vegas (current Magix Vegas Post Pro V17). They are working hard to get the app back on track after Sony’s years of neglect and it’s coming along well (it’s finally more stable than Premiere).
Â
You can export Premiere projects but like any translation it’s going to have it’s limited, it’s really useful for only simple timelines without effects, titles etc. It’s really just a variation of XML exports.

Subject: Re: [AE] Making a Cone in Element 3D
Â
Hello,
By way of this sample, I have a couple questions. I did use Blender by the way for the cone but I built this model in Element 3D otherwise (assembled I guess). I'm having some difficulty saving the model as a preset. I know the procedure
but for some reason it doesn't save ALL components. Any idea on what could be the solution?
And a second question, probably not much help here but I used to use Sony Vegas to edit and I have a project from 2012 that actually has a feature to export to a premiere file (even saw a youtube video) but for some reason, after exporting
the entire thing, it does not produce the actual premiere file like I see in the tutorial.
Incidentally, the old footage I have could prove to be a cool time lapse thing with me nearly 8 years ago and then current.
Appreciate any insight if anyone has some.

What Chris says.
For simple shapes, you may want to use a a vector software like Illustrator and export an eps file for Element.
Â
Learn Blender. Free and easy to learn. Model whatever you like there then export.
