ah bummer! Yes, as you learned opening a ticket is the best route to getting things working!

especially with gpu acceleration there are some many options and variations out there that its tough to to test for them all so we fix them as they come in.

As much as I love what the effect does, I’m not a 100% enthusiastic fan.

No offense, Lloyd, but what I’d really like to know is how to get the same looks using the native plugs in Pr and Ae, or some other color effect that works better.

It crashes Premiere or puts it into Not Responding frequently while rendering Sequences.  It’s sold as an accelerated effect, and the real-time performance with a fast CUDA card (in Premiere 2018 on OSX 10.13.6) is almost non-existent.

Once the CTI encounters unrendered clips with the effect applied, the Program monitor starts playing that clip and all subsequent clips at about 1 FPS until I stop play, and restart it.  This is 100% repeatable and consistent.

I put in a support ticket, and I was able to get my first project to render without crashing with product updates, but I’m on a new project now, and it’s causing Pr to go into Not Responding a lot when I render my sequence.  I did some back and forth with the developer, a very nice man.

To end on a positive note, the price ($25) is hard to beat, considering how much magic potential it has.

Thanks for sharing this Jim! We usually only hear about the problems so it's nice when someone shares good news :)

I licensed this effect from aescripts that works in Pr and Ae, and I’m amazed at how it can bring out the blue in skies and an image richness that I’m not able to get using Lumetri or any other of the native CC effects I’ve tried.  I acknowledge that I’m not an expert colorist.

I’ve been trying to get similarly great looks with native plugs in Pr / Ae, and not even getting close.

Has anybody else used this effect, and have opinions positive or negative?
