The problem with Render Garden and BG Renderer MAX is that the last time I tested (about 6 months ago) the both crashed brutally with larger renders that use GPU acceleration. In other words, bigger more complex renders that the payoff is bigger to get help.

 

AE 2020 however, is substantially faster and more stable for renders including our complex big ones, the first improvement we’ve seen here in some time.

 

 

I haven’t found anything better or more efficient than Render Garden

If you want a much cheaper solution but equally fast (or faster) rendering solution you should check out BG Renderer MAX https://aescripts.com/bg-renderer
