| Begs the question of why have any effects at all, when we can just use an expression for everything? The next step being, who needs a UI, anyway? Just do everything command-line!
No need for precomps. Add text layer, add expression to source text property, and choose timeToFrames from preset arrow drop down. Done. You can use any font in AE now and size. Complaint and FR - The Numbers effect type size is limited to 128pt. I’m putting the request here, since I was bounced from the AE beta list a years ago.
With today’s frame sizes that’s often absurd SMALL, and one has to jump through precomp hoops to scale it big enough to be useful; current project 400%. How about 999 points maximum? That might keep us for a few years.
