Afaik speed will be ~5x greater, reliability should be about the same.
The only potential catch with nvme is whether it's taking PCI lanes away from your GPU--generally not an issue except with multi-GPU setups and lower-end motherboards.

Hi all,
wishing a happy holiday season!
We are about to upgrade an oldish pc, and a quick look shows the
prices of nvme-M.2 drives have dropped dramatically. Perhaps not of the
top of the line 970 Evo & Pro ones but the "slower" cheaper QLC ones
like Intel 660p & Crucial P1, which have reached the price of ordinary
ssd drives that have more than 4x slower speeds (~ 100$ for 1TB drives).
Would they be a better choice for PR & AE for fast I/O read and write
operations than a regular ssd and if not why? Do they degrade faster
over time are meant only for read operations?
any caveat to make us prefer regular ssd's?
Thank you
